> Exhaustively Researched: I have put dozens of hours into research for this mod, and I have never used wikipedia or any sketchy internet sources. Instead, I spent hundreds of dollars on academic history books and journals and have reconstructed Mesoamerica in 1428 with the utmost possible historical accuracy.
> New Political Structures: Take on the challenge of ruling an incredibly decentralized realm as you create a massive vassal empire as Tenochtitlan or any other city state, turning conquered cities into a special type of subject called a tributary, who is not obligated to join your wars and instead pays you tribute in supplies and manpower every year. Make sure that you maintain the perception of strength or you will find your tributaries quickly abandoning you in your time of need. Work to integrate these tributaries over time with a new mechanic called Administrative Influence that essentially functions as local autonomy for vassals.
Or... take on the challenge of building a centralized empire in the rough terrain of West Mexico as the Purepecha kingdom of Tzintzuntzan, constantly fighting your provinces for control and working to assimilate conquered populations as best as you can.
> Population System: Experience a detailed population system where population changes every year based on local food production, manpower, stability, war, buildings, and many other factors.
> New Events and Decisions: The mod will be packed with flavor events and decisions to give players the best possible experience. Dozens of unique decisions and hundreds of new events will completely replace all events and decisions from the base game.
> More Detailed Internal Management: The mod has a greatly expanded estates system, better religions, detailed vassal loyalty, many more buildings than the base game, all new idea groups, and much more.
Mesoamerica Universalis is expected to release around late October/Early November after Rights of Man comes out. It may be take longer depending on how much time I need to finish all the flags and icons.
Speaking of which ... If any talented 2D artists want to help me out, (or anyone else wants to help out), please add me on steam. It would help a lot
